CERES Negros FC fortified its standing in the Philippines Football League table with a back-to-back win over Stallion Laguna FC on Wednesday at the Biñan Football Stadium.
The Busmen stepped on the gas with a 6-2 scoreline starting with a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes behind Patrick Reichelt and OJ Porteria for a 2-0 advantage at the half.
Mike Ott joined the scoring spree in the 53rd minute before Stallion's Jason Cordova erred and earned an own goal 4 minutes later.
With 20 minutes left in the match, Kevin Ingreso and Porteria connected 2 more goals for a commanding 6-0 advantage until Abou Sy and Fitch Arboleda hit two consolation goals in the 72nd and 76th minutes for the Stallions.
With the win, Ceres has now 24 points with eight wins and a loss while Kaya FC Iloilo is at No. 2 with 16 points with five wins, a draw and 3 defeats. Davao Aguilas FC is on the third spot with four wins, two draws and four routs for 14 points.
The Busmen will return to Biñan on Saturday for their first game in June against JPV Marikina FC.
