THE ultimate league where the future of Philippine football lies on its grassroots program will open this Saturday after bad weather persisted last week here.
Hundreds of young booters from across the province have waited an extra week to see action in the 2018 Dynamic Football League - 2nd Conference when it kicks off at Sta. Maria Football Field in Talisay City.
Competing teams will be divided into three divisions - the North will feature Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias, Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Memorial Elementary School - Victorias, Sagay City, and Cadiz City.
Central Negros will comprise of the University of St. La Salle-Integrated School, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Rams, Bata Tigers, Montevista, Mabini FC, St. Scholastica's Academy, Kanlaon Hijos Football Club, St. John's FC, Rizal Elementary Schoo, Villa Angela, Universal, Sikatz-Sum-ag, and Trinity Christian School.
The Southern Negros group are San Enrique, Pontevedra FC, Bago FC, Himamaylan FC, Dancalan Ilog and Carlota City.
Since its inception in 2013, DFL continuously provided opportunities for children to develop their skills and character on and off the pitch.
To ensure that coaches have the capacity to handle their respective teams, the league also required them of a minimum license to join the tournament. Moreover, refresher courses and training for referees are also held regularly to provide quality officiating.
Among the categories are: born 2010 and above, born 2008 and above, born 2006 and above, and born 2001 and above.
This competition is sanctioned by the Negros Occidental Football Association and supervised by DFL chairman Andrew Infante. (HGD/VoxPop Bacolod)
