AFTER winning its initial game in the ongoing NBA 2018 President's Cup, ESJ Fyr Fyter (YBAC) is looking to improve its record when it tangles with Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (Silver Dragon Construction) on Sunday at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym.
ESJ Fyr Fyter (YBAC) booked its initial victory over La Consolacion College (Davies Paint-J Squared Construction) in opening day while Silver Dragon racked up three wins after losing to Red Taiwan Shabu Shabu (UNO-R) in the opening.
Silver Dragons gave the University of St. La Salle (Freeze Sportswear) its second loss with a 95-52 demolition job as Coach Elvis Atinado's charges opened a 22-7 opening quarter behind Carl Magbanua's 9 points.
They extended their lead to 49-21 at the break with Jeric Adorio adding seven points in the 2nd quarter.
Missing their outside shots and abandoning its attempts from the arc, Raymund Concha's Freeze Sportswear tried hard in the inside but the lanky Silver Dragons' held them to only 12 points against their rival's 22 markers.
With the 71-52 deficit, Freeze Sportswear hoped for a spark to change the momentum but only Jeffrey Abordo and Nicole Loreto Antiporda answered the call with 7 points apiece.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd Licawan sizzled for 10 points alongside Joseph Yoro and Vladimir Pangantihon's five points each.
Magbanua paced Silver Dragon with 12 points as Licawan and Pangantihon with 14 and 11 points, Adorio shot nine and Josue Segumpan and Reymart Carano-o added seven apiece.
Abordo spearheaded Freeze Sportswear with 17 markers as Antiporda and Jude Junto backstopped with 12 and 9 points. (HGD)
