Hanah jins triumph in 'Best of the Best'

HANAH taekwondo jins Mary Angeline Alcantara and Joshua Emmanuel Deita won gold medals in the recently-concluded 2018 MVP Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships held in Ayala Malls South Park, Muntinlupa.

Alcantara, named MVP in the under Junior Women in Kyorugi, first defeated Kristine Gaerlan of Diliman Preparatory School, 18-0 before taking down Shyendler Cedo of Philippine Christian University Dasma Powerkicks, 8-1.

The 2017 World Championship Cadet gold medalist crashed Alexandra Nesle of Angeles University, 21-7, then edged Abigail Faye Valdez of JL Tkd, a participant in the Junior Youth Olympics qualifiers, in the finals, 17-7.

Deita ruled the Grade School boys event with a 10-4 win over Jonas Sales of Baguio Defender in quarterfinals then defeated Ramon Luistro of DPS, 22-17, in the semis. He outscored Derek Poyagen of Baguio Bravehearts in the finals, 26-5.
