AFTER months of tough competitions under the searing heat of the sun, four teams are up to battle for the titles in the Negros First 2nd Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. Area 2 Inter-Hacienda Summer League and first Lourdes Socorro Escalante Open Summer League on June 3 at the Hda. Lourdes Softball Dream Park in Manapla.
Talisay City takes on Fuentes Lines Bacolod in the championship match of the open division at 1:30 p.m. while the battle for third between Carlos Hilado Memorial State College Barkadas Talisay, and Silay City will be played at 9 a.m.
In the semifinals, Talisay City survived Silay City, 5-4, while Fuentes Lines defeated CHMSC, 7-5.
In the Inter-Hacienda, teams to play in the finals will be determined after the semifinals on Saturday, June 2.
Playing for the first semis match will be No.1 Cadiz Sluggers, and No.4 Punta Salong-Manapla, while for the second semis is No.2 Hda. Burgos against No.3 Hda. Gaston.
Losers of this match will play for the battle for third at 2 p.m.
Champions of both divisions will receive P10,000 cash and trophies, while P7,000 and trophies for the 1st runner-up.
The 3rd and 4th placers will take home P5,000 and P3,000 each.
All non-winning teams and individual awardees will also get cash incentives.
Supporting these events are Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante alongside Second District Representative Leo Rafael Cueva, Second District Board Members Salvador Escalante and Samson Mirhan, and Executive Assistant to the Governor Angel Verdeflor, and Manuel Escalante. (HGD)
