NOHS Kami Mga Hubin defended its title and became back-to-back champions after the 6th Inter-school Alumni Bowlfest 2018 championship ended on September 29 at Negros Super Lanes, Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
After losing their advantage, NOHS KMH bowlers led by skipper Toto Flores bounced back in the deciding game against eventual first runner-up STI-WNU Bowldozers.
The defending champions grabbed the title in bracket "A" with a 511-474 clincher.
Second seed Bowldozers with soft swinger Arlou Dionio surprised KMH in the first game, 558-507, to extend the series.
They earned the right to challenge the best team in the bowlfest by blasting the three-batch merger of NOHS/Davies Pinbusters with 62 pins more.
Davies Pinbusters and BCHS Lucky Strike placed second and third runners-up, respectively.
In bracket "B," CSA-B United led by Cecil Ramon Silverio and Precy Pillo pinned down eventual first runner-up DLNHS D'Bounty Strikers, 522-494, to become the champion after losing game one, 535-463.
BCHS Mustangs piloted by Oscar Clemen and NOHS Incredibowls of Henry Toga settled for second and third runner-up, respectively.
Bacolod Tay Tung High School with powerhouse Bobby Yap needed only one game to secure the bracket "C" title with a 540-475 win over NOHS Color Ideas.
First runner-up Color Ideas took the right to challenge the top seed by ripping St. Joseph-La Salle Shieldz, 484-468. The Shieldz and NOHS Cat Strikers finished second and third runners-up.
Consolation prize champion for the non-winning entries were NOHS Colony (Bracket A), NOHS Grupo '83 (Bracket B), and BCHS The Rocks (Bracket C).
BTTHS bet Abe Leong and Sylvia Del Rosario won the master bowler title in the battle of the tournament's top 10 players.
This five-man duckpin event is organized by a group of volunteers headed by Noela Borja and committee members Glori Libo-on of NOHS and Rowena Juarez of DLNHS. (HGD)
