CAUAYAN-NATIVE and undefeated Jay-r Raquinel (10-0-1, 7 knockouts) retained his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) flyweight belt last Sunday, May 27, after knocking out Japanese challenger Shun Kosaka (15-4, 4 KO's) in Round 4 of Wakayama Kuratoki Promotions' Big Wave at Wakayama, Japan.
The 21-year-old fighter of Highland Boxing gym landed a perfectly-timed left hook to the jaw of Kosaka sending him into the canvas.
The 23-Japanese challenger tried to get back to his feet but was unable to establish himself after given the 10-second count.
This is Raquinel's back-to-back knockout victory in Japan following his ninth round stoppage over Keisuke Nakayama last March in Tokyo.
With the win, Raquinel thanked all those who prayed for him and who continuously supported his quest to bring pride and glory to the country.
Joining Raquinel in Japan are Coach Alan Alegria, manager and former GAB Chairman Juan Ramon Guanzon, and Highland Boxing promoter Brico Santig. (HGD)
