AT LEAST one died in a structural fire in Itogon, Benguet Thursday, April 16.
Acting on a call from a concerned citizen, the Itogon Municipal Police Station with the Bureau of Fire Protection responded to a structural fire on the evening of of April 16 at Sitio Marooc, Loacan, Itogon, Benguet.
Investigation revealed a lone fatality, 44–year–old Maryjane Tongab Balon-angey, who was reportedly trapped inside their home as the fire raged.
Authorities said the family of Balon-angey said the daughter of the victim was cooking when the fire suddenly sparked and quickly engulfed the entire house.
BFP Itogon investigation disclosed the cause of fire was due to a gas leak.
