PERSONNEL of the Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO–COR) deployed in frontlines during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) started to receive a P500 daily hazard pay April 17.
The hazard pay is expected to further boost the financial flexibility of PRO-COR personnel and their families, apart from the full range of salary and allowances in April, sans any deduction for loan amortization for this month.
Police Brigadier General R'win Pagkalinawan, PRO–COR director, said the regional police organization which is a part of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases have been a witness to the hardships of their men and women in uniform who endure long hours at work in the field.
"Each and every member of PRO–COR knows by heart the reason why we need to pass this way because it is a professional calling and a sworn responsibility to serve that have been bestowed upon us by the people," Pagkalinawan said.
Another P5,000 windfall is also due for all Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc. (PSMBFI) members as financial assistance to police personnel.
"Aside from the hazard pay to our personnel in the frontlines, we continue to assure the safety of the police manning quarantine control points (QCPs) by providing them with personal protective equipment (PPE). We thank all police officers and personnel of PRO-COR for their unwavering support and sacrifices in performing their duty to uphold law enforcement as the country battles an unseen enemy, "Pagkalinawan added.
