

THE Philippine Statistics Authority disclosed 183,000 families in the region belong to the income class of P100,000 to P249,999 annual earners.
Followed by families with an annual income of P250,000 to P499,999 and P500,000.
In 2018, the PSA held a Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES), a nationwide survey of households undertaken every three years.
It is the main source of data on family income and expenditure, which include among others, levels of consumption by item of expenditure as well as sources of income in cash and in kind.
The result of FIES provide information on the levels of living and disparities in income of Filipino families, as well as their spending patterns.
According to PSA, as of 2018, the total number of families in the region reached 422,000.
It was estimated that 19.4 percent of the total families had four members, 18.7 percent had five and 16.1 percent had seven or more family members.
A one-person household comprised 7.1 percent.
PSA said main sources of family income come from wages estimated at 47.3 percent.
The data arm agency added income is from entrepreneurial activities and other sources of income estimated at 23.9 percent and 28.8 percent, respectively.
While the income of families belonging the P250,000 to P499,999 earners comprise 52.8 percent of income culled from wages and 23.9 percent from their entrepreneurial activities and 27.3 from other sources of income.
In the Cordillera, a family of seven persons recorded the highest average annual income estimated at P438,000 followed by families with five persons with estimated average annual income of P396,000.
A one-person household logged the lowest average annual income pegged at P164,000.
The PSA stated the average annual savings of families is estimated at P124,000 with average annual income of P354,000 and expenditure of P230,000.
In terms of average annual savings, a family of five logged the highest savings estimated at P151,000 followed by a family of seven and three persons while one-person household had the lowest estimated average annual savings at P48,000.
