TWO pawnbrokers were caught by Abra police following entrapment operations on April 16.
A report from the Bangued Municipal Police Station stated that the operation was conducted at 3 p.m. of April 16 and resulted in the arrest of Julieta Balneg Botanes of So Riang, Barangay Lubong, and Evangeline Bilgera Esquivel of Barangay Dangdangla both in Bangued town.
Investigation revealed the suspects pawned a titled lot without the knowledge of the legal owner. The lot was pawned at P124,000 in March 2017.
The suspects were also asking for P5,000 as additional payment.
With the information received from an informant, the Bangued cops conducted the entrapment operation that led to the suspects' arrest.
Botanes and Esquivel were brought to Bangued police station for inquest proceedings.
