THIRTEEN gamblers were arrested by police in their continuing drive against illegal gambling in Tabuk City, Kalinga in the early morning of March 13.
Arrested were James Balicao, 27, resident of Lay-asan, Pangol, Tanudan, Kalinga; Romy Basyagon, 39, resident of Ileb, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Ralf Denver Domingo, 26, resident of Purok 2, Bulanao Tabuk City, Kalinga; Wilbert Apatas, 31, resident of Masablang, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Benedictine Manao, 32, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Rosario Dumanao, 49, resident of Purok 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Baristo Bawinto, 35, resident of Mangali, Tanudan Kalinga;
Also arrested were Norton Pacao, 38, resident of Purok 1, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Johnson Hebana, 28, resident of Pinukpuk, Kalinga; Judy Binoloc, 39, resident of Mabaka,Tanudan, Kalinga; Noli Oyando, 34, resident of San Juan, Tabuk City, Kalinga; Casiano Panabe, 41, resident of Lunas Dupligan, Tanudan, Kalinga; and Oliver Abbacan, 46, and a resident of Dagupan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
All 13 were caught playing "Lucky 9" after a concerned resident reported to the police about the gambling activity.
Joint personnel of the Criminal Intelligence and Detection Group Provincial Field Unit (CIDG PFU) of Kalinga, Apayao, Ifugao, Tabuk City Police Station and the Regional Mobil Force Brigade(RMFB) 15 confiscated 27 boxes of playing cards and bet money amounting to P8,070.
Arrested gamblers and confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of the concerned operating units for proper disposition while the suspects are now facing charges for violation of PD 1602 or the Anti-Gambling Act before the court.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-Cor) in a statement said it will intensify its campaign on the war on illegal gambling to curb the illegal activities regionwide.
