THE Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) reminded motorcycle owners anew to avoid being victimized by a group prying on motorcycles.
This, following the recovery of 14 stolen motorcycles by the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and the Baguio City Police Office.
Senior Inspector Carol Lacuata, PRO-COR information officer, said the region lauded the neutralization of this robbery group and have called on the public to be more vigilant and prevent such incidents from happening again.
"The neutralization of this robbery-car nap group is a welcome development on the part of PRO-COR and we urged the public to inform their nearest police station on any similar activities happening in their area," Lacuata said.
Initial investigation revealed the group disassembles the stolen motorcycles and sells them to customers and farmers who use them for their tram line facilities for transport.
PROCOR identified the suspects as Joseph Carantes of Lucas, La Trinidad- Gerson Remegio of San Pascual, Tuba- Merlon Tomas and Raymond Wayas of Topdak, Atok- and Jay Rivera of Irisan, Baguio City.
The group are now under the custody of the police are facing a case for violating the anti - carnapping act.
LTMPS head Chief Inspector Benson Macliing said nine individuals have already filed a case against the robbery carnap group while reminded other motorcycle owners who would want to retrieve their stolen motorcycles to bring with them the OR-CR's and deed of sale for claiming.
