THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera will continue to aggressively monitor the implementation of minimum health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH).
This is to help combat the possible effects of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Police Brigadier General R'win Pagkalinawan, PRO regional director, said despite additional physical stress faced by the regional command in checkpoints, security measures in relation to the coronavirus are strictly implemented.
"The use of gloves, the bringing of alcohol, the use of masks and face shield and the wearing of personal protective equipment or PPE's specially in warm places where they sweat are the physical stress that they undergo when conducting their day to day security activities as compared before the coming of Covid-19 where they are used to conduct patrols in the community. But this still does not hamper their obligation to do their duties," Pagkalinawan said.
He said every police officer in the country will continue to conduct security measures with or without the pandemic.
"The police are here to serve in any condition and situation. We will be the ones to adjust on what kinds of innovations are needed to be done to complete a mission and with present condition that we face with regard to Covid-19, we continue to do patrols even with the strict observance of the minimum health protocols and the adjustments on the latest directives issued by the national headquarters which we need to relay to the communities in the provinces for them to anticipate," Pagkalinawan added.
Among the 17 regional commands of the Philippine National Police nationwide, PRO-CAR has one of the lowest personnel infected by coronavirus.
