TUBLAY Mayor Armando Lauro expressed his intent in fast tracking the settlement of the political boundary with the municipality and La Trinidad town in Benguet province.
"I think we have to move right now. We have to refresh our intent to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Council) for the settlement of political boundary of Barangay Shilan in La Trinidad and Barangay Caponga in Tublay," Lauro said.
The mayor added from the executive, the matter would be addressed by the Municipal Council of Tublay to make a resolution to the Benguet Provincial Board expressing willingness to settle the conflict between the two towns.
The immediate resolution of the boundary dispute was brought out anew following the closure of the chicken dung trading center in Sitio Tili, Barangay Shilan.
"Even if we subscribe to your allegation that the area is within the disputed boundaries of La Trinidad and Tublay, this would not warrant you to sell, dispose and store chicken dung in a disputed area where La Trinidad has been exercising jurisdiction," the order stated.
Salda added the area engaged in the business of trading, storage and disposal of chicken dung is within the territorial jurisdiction of La Trinidad.
During one of the confrontations, the closure order received by Nora Lagadeo argued last June 5 their operation is within the territorial jurisdiction of Tublay.
They have also asked the chicken dung operation of Melecio Takay to be closed.
Lauro, meanwhile, said an executive order is being prepared to adopt and localize the provincial ordinance of Benguet Quarantine Law including the regulation especially those relative to the shipment of chicken manure.
Out of the 10 sites of chicken dung operation, Lauro mentioned at least four sites with certification of chicken dung operation in the municipality have complied with the requirements set by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Unit adding another requirement be made including the construction material recovery facility within the sites with a uniform design for the localized quarantine law in Tublay.
