LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- All crowd drawing activities in Benguet's capital town are temporarily suspended.
Mayor Romeo Salda through his executive order identified suspended crowd drawing and tourism activities such as concerts, pageants, fun runs, barangay and coop assemblies, whether private or local government unit led in the municipality or barangay.
Salda added the town is undertaking safety measures on a temporary basis to prevent and or control the spread of the disease while organizers of all private activities which are not crowd drawing must also secure a special permit from the mayor's office and asked to declare the nature of activity, number of participants, number of hours/days and precautionary measures to be undertaken.
The chief executive have earlier lifted the ban on crowd drawing events last February reiterating its stand on the cancellation of 2020 Strawberry festival as precautionary measure against the virus.
The executive order added municipal officials and employees of town are also barred from travelling outside the province except in the exigency of public service.
The mayor anchored the suspension on the recent proclamation of President Rodrigo Duterte declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country.
