Rosario: "When my mind is blank"

Published on

"MICHAEL, don't forget to write and submit your article for tomorrow."

That's what Angie told me a few minutes before midnight Thursday.

But I had nothing on my mind. So I got hold of a book entitled "Join the Feast", by well-known author and preacher, Bo Sanchez, hoping to find a spark of inspiration. However, this time, after reading a chapter of his book, I still could not think of something to share with you.

Why Bo's book? During our weekly family prayer meetings, if we don't miss out, we watch one of his short videos, entitled "Full Tank", and then discuss how his message impacts each of us. His messages are short and impactful. He is truly gifted and has devoted his life to ministering to so many people. He is truly God's servant.

Was it a mental block I was experiencing? Perhaps it was. I have been bombarded or barraged with many concerns the past weeks, both business- and family-related. Thus, Angie has graciously filled in for me in writing for this column, so many times these past two months.

I am blessed to have Angie, as my alternate writer for this column. But if this keeps up, I would end up being the alternate columnist.

"Pray, pray and pray. Act. And let God do the rest," is what I keep telling others.

This time, the words echo in my mind, and I feel myself needing that same advice.

Truly in moments like these, I realize how everything comes, not from our own talents, but from Him alone. I am humbled.

As I had some special intentions and many reasons to be grateful today, I visited Mama Mary at her grotto in Pacdal, a few hours ago. She has always helped me and does not let me down.

And so, may this message of trust and hope in her intercession be the message I share with you. Yes, there is light in the face of a blank mind and a blank wall.

My Dearest Michael,

BTOA. "Believe. Trust. Obey. Act" is what I keep reminding our staff. And today, I use the same acronym and words to remind myself that when we can no longer perform, it is but a reminder that "everything comes from God alone, everything lives by His power, and everything is for His glory."

Thus, I bow down in humility and acknowledge my nothingness. My mind is blank and I allow Him to take over.

Pray. Pray and pray.
