SANDI Menchi Abahan is looking for another podium finish setting her sight in the upcoming Obstacle Course Racing World Championship (OCRWC) later in 2020.
The OCR gold medalist during the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games said she is looking forward for the world championships set on October 2 to 4 in the United States.
Prior to the world championships, Abahan will be competing in the Spartan race in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on February 15 where there will be 20 obstacles in a five-kilometer race.
Abahan is trying to improve her time in the race as she awaits word if it will be included in the 31st SEAG in Vietnam in 2021.
OCRWC, will be held at Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont, is a familiar venue for championship OCR athletes which hosted Adventurey's independent North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships (NorAm) for the past two years.
The 2020 event marks a return to American soil after four years abroad.
Since its 2014 debut in rural Ohio to a few hundred athletes, the event has grown into an annual competition that attracts thousands of world-class athletes from more than 60 nations. The three-day OCR World Championships offers five different races to accommodate all types of athletes.
The flagship 3K and 15K distance races are only open to qualified age-group and professional athletes. Competitors in these two events must first qualify in one of hundreds of races across the globe to earn the right to toe the start line alongside the best athletes in the sport.
The 100-meter sprint, team relay and charity open require no qualification and are open to anyone looking to experience a world-class OCR course.

Prior to competing in OCR, Abahan is considered as one of the top elite trail runner and is considered a topnotch Filipina athlete in the sport where she has won national and international competitions including the Kinabalu run in Malaysia and only took the sport for a short time which paid off, earning her a gold in the recent biennial meet.
Abahan is expected to return to Chamonix, France in late August to join the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc in the Sur le Traces des Ducs de Savoie category which she joined in 2017.
The former UC Jaguars is expected to compete with several local ultrarunners where they will compete in the event that is 145 kilometer-long featuring nine 100 meters ascent.
