ANYTIME Fitness, a 24-hour global fitness and health club, has organized a fitness fiesta last Friday, August 24, at SM Downtown Premier, as part of the month-long celebration of the Higalaay Festival in Cagayan de Oro City.

Higalaay Fitness Fiesta is an event created to connect the religious element of the festival to fitness, celebrating the patron saint of the city, St. Augustine, in Anytime Fitness way.

It is also to show the general public how fitness and health is important.

"We are connecting the religious to fitness. Aside from being a devoted Christian, we need to be aware that it follows to our health also. That's why we created this event, just to have fitness awareness and to share in the community on how important fitness is," Christian Galarrita, the club manager of Anytime Fitness, said.

"This event is not only marketing our brand but we just need to help people to be aware on how important fitness in our daily life," he added.

The event consisted of fitness and health activities such as the Fitness Fest, Mardi Gras Dance 2 B Fit, and Food for Fitness.

Fitness Fest, one of the highlight activities of the event, is a fashion show that showcase the members of Anytime Fitness and its endorsers, Oreo Vamenta and Nicole Abas Datayan, wearing Mardi Gras-inspired outfits created by Cagayan de Oro fashion designer Gil Macaibay III.

Mardi Gras Dance 2 B Fit, another highlight activity of the Higalaay Fitness Fiesta, on the other hand, is a zumba dance activity where zumba enthusiasts wore Mardi Gras attire while dancing.

"I think the reason why they also have this kind of event is para mapakita sa mga tao how we, Anytime Fitness, every month man gud naa mi event, ga event si Anytime Fitness so murag gusto niya in a way ma-promote ang Anytime and at the same time mapakita sa community kung unsa ang Anytime Fitness, as one, as a family, nga dili lang sya model gyud but real model," Vamenta, one of the endorsers of Anytime Fitness, said.

As an endorser of the fitness and health club, Vamenta said the event is to show to everyone that they are fit and healthy and happy to be a part of the Anytime Fitness family.

Datayan, for her part, expressed happiness and was proud to be a part of "something that's not only health-based but also community-based."

"If you noticed, here in Anytime Fitness, we have plenty of activities like the one that's happening, para nga maipakita gihapon na not only to the members but also non-members ways that you can be healthy and how this can be a lifestyle also," she said.

Advocating positivity, positive living and creating healthy lifestyle, the 9000 Events company agreed to be the events partner with Anytime Fitness for this event.

"We're so happy that Anytime Fitness is initiating this kinds of activities not just for the members but for the general public so that everybody will get to realize that there's a facility here in Cagayan de Oro that can actually cater to their physical needs," Owen Jaen, the owner of the 9000 Events company and a member of Anytime Fitness, said.
