TWO of the arrested anti-narcotics agents accused of threatening at gunpoint a group of taxi drivers in Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City, were tested positive for gunpowder residue.
Senior Inspector Breccia Ruth Townend, police station 7 commander, said the paraffin test conducted on the suspects Ramil Salido and Jestoni Tubongbanua, both members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao yielded positive.
The other suspects were Randy Doliente and former PDEA-Northern Mindanao agent Marvin Pabalante.
On the other hand, Townend said the ballistic exam to check whether the suspects' guns were fired has yet to come out.
"Ang paraffin is kung ang suspect naa gun powder while ang ballistic kung nagamit ang firearm sa pagpabuto,"Townend said.
Townend said the result of the paraffin test will be part of the evidences to be presented in court.
The suspects are facing attempted murder, physical injury and multiple grave threats after they allegedly harassed and beat up three taxi drivers and threatened the group at gunpoint last Friday.
They were also accused of illegally discharging their firearms. The suspects subsequently surrendered to the arresting policemen their issued long and short firearms.
"May kaso pa din yung dalawa kasi et al sila sa lahat ng kaso," Townend said.
However, she said the suspects can post bail for all the cases filed against them for their temporary liberty.
