AROUND three barangays in Cagayan de Oro were identified by the City Health Office as areas where isolation units will be put up for the 14-day quarantine of persons under monitoring (PUMs).
City Health Office (CHO) Public Health Technical Division head Dr. Claire Azura-Pagunawan said the health office's inspection team have already identified the three barangays last Friday, March 20, but their concern now is how to manage the isolations units, considering that they also have to address the supply of food for the PUMs, the watchers, security and manpower.
"Kung inyong nabantayan, ang Bherts (Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams) gipang house to house na biya sila ang barangay so mangita na pud og additional manpower para ibutang didto kay kinahanglan na kung magbutang ta og isolation unit, naa gyud naay tao," Pagunawan said.
Apart from the barangays, the CHO, with the permission of the Department of Education, is also looking into using the school classrooms as isolation units.
"Ginatan-aw nila kay naa man gyud syay guidelines from the DILG kung unsa dapat ang isolation unit. Dili na sya pwede nga luag lang ang classroom kay kinahanglan man nga kung naay PUM, ma-separate, naay mga barrier nga dili sila magtipok tanan," Pagunawan said.
At present, there are no schools yet in Cagayan de Oro that were identified by the inspection team as possible isolation units.
