6 persons with flu-like symptoms in Camaman-an closely monitored

THE City Health Office, through its community development volunteers (CDVs), has identified nine individuals Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City who showed signs of influenza-like illness.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said from Friday, April 24, to April 26, the CDVs have visited a total of 1,003 households in Pinitikan, Barangay Camaman-an.

Retuya said only nine of the 3,064 individuals showed signs of influenza-like illness and as of Monday, April 27, three of them have recovered.

He added that the City Health Office is continuing its monitoring and follow-up on the remaining six individuals who have shown signs of improvement.

Meanwhile, the doctor from a private hospital who attended to the 69-year-old Covid-positive male from Camaman-an (PH6783) for consultation and his secretary have completed their quarantine and has shown no unusual signs or symptoms related to Covid-19, Retuya said.

But he added that they are still under the City Health Office's monitoring.

Also, all of the family members of PH6783 showed no signs of unusual symptoms. They are still at the City Isolation Unit for their quarantine.

Retuya also confirmed that the two nurses from Polymedic General Hospital who were in close contact with PH6783 were admitted at the said hospital due to complaints of cough.

Retuya said the nurses, who have history of asthma, were admitted before PH6783 was referred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

Swabs have already been taken from the two nurses and they are still waiting for the result.
