CAGAYAN de Oro City Health Office continues to remind the public of the strict observance of the minimum public health standards after an employee of a bank in the city tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
On September 30, the Land Bank of the Philippines Velez Branch, in its client advisory, temporarily closed as one of its employees tested positive for the virus that causes Covid-19.
The bank had called all clients who transacted in the branch from September 21 to 29 to undergo self-quarantine.
According to Department of Health-Misamis Oriental Director Dr. Adriano Suba-an, a team was sent to conduct a risk assessment among the close contacts of the coronavirus-positive employee.
"Ang atong team sa Department of Health provided the risk assessment. Gi-classify sila kung high risk ba, moderate risk ba or low risk ba, para katong mga high risk ma-prioritize for testing," Suba-an said on Friday, October 2.
According to Suba-an, a total of 56 persons were swabbed by the Philippine Red Cross and of the number, five have tested positive, two are symptomatic, and three are asymptomatic.
The regional director also assured that all of the 56 persons are currently in isolation facilities.
City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, during the city's daily press conference on Friday, said that while the establishment has passed the guidelines for health protocols, there may be lapses, particularly among employees, during meal times.
"The government can only regulate but implementation must be done by each and every individual. If we want a decrease or decline of our cases, one is implementation strictly of non-pharmaceutical interventions and this may include law and order," Retuya said.
