THE economic services will get the bulk of the city's proposed executive budget for 2019.
Data from the City Hall shows that P2.6 billion or 41.4 percent of the proposed P6.5 billion 2019 budget will be utilized for the economic services.
The city has also set aside its 20 percent Development Fund in the amount of P333 million, while about P1.2 billion has been proposed to fund various infrastructure projects.
The city is also allocating P60 million for land acquisition and expropriation, and another P17 million for land development. Land acquisition is one of the priority projects of Mayor Moreno.
Environment and natural resources projects has a budget worth P67.8 million, followed by agriculture projects which has an allocation of P62.7 million, and P39.7 million is allocated for veterinary concerns.
According to the executive budget submitted by Mayor Oscar Moreno to the City Council, projects lined up for next year include upgrading and concreting of farm-to-market roads, implementation of the City Integrated Coastal Management Program, farm youth development program, among others.
"It's still ambitious. This year we have P5.8 budget, for next year is P6.5 billion, for a difference of 0.7, which is a little over 10 percent," Moreno said.
Moreno pointed out he does not want to preempt the City Council, and he will respect whatever decision they will make.
