THE general community quarantine (GCQ) in Misamis Oriental will continue to take effect after Governor Yevgeny Emano extended it until April 30.
Emano issued an executive order extending the GCQ over the entire province after the first order expired Tuesday, April 14.
Misamis Oriental was placed under GCQ from March 24 to April 14 to contain local transmission of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The order said as of April 9, several Covid-19 cases are already confirmed in all provinces surrounding Misamis Oriental, thereby posing an imminent threat to the health and safety of Misamisnons.
At present, there is no confirmed positive case of Covid-19 in the province.
"To prevent any positive case of Covid-19 from occurring in the whole province of Misamis Oriental, there is a need to continue implementing safety and precautionary measures against the said disease," the order said.
