MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny "Bambi" Emano on Wednesday, April 22, said its implementation of stringent measures against the deadly coronavirus has been gaining ground, even as hitting Cagayan de Oro City's measures calling it as "nagkagidlay" or disorganized.
Emano made the statement in response to questions thrown by his detractors for imposing stricter measures in checkpoints before people are allowed entry in the province.
The province requires those who enter Misamis Oriental to present travel pass, which a person can obtain if the health office declares him or her fit to travel.
The governor said the measures imposed has been effective as the province has not yet logged a positive case of Covid-19 so far.
"Nindot ang implementation sa MisOr kay hangtod karon zero case kita. Samtang nagkagidlay ang ilang operasyon ang ilang pagpadagan sa Cagayan de Oro," Emano said during his radio program.
Emano said he is surprised why the City Government blames his leadership everytime the city's implementation and efforts are being criticized.
"Matingala ko kung dunay palpak nila nga implementation ilang ipahid sa MisOr. Para sa ako gusto sila mandalahig. Maong simple ra gyud na ayaw pagpanaway sa muta sa uban kay basin og wala nimo mabantayi nga naay troso sa imong mata," he added.
The capitol's top official said the strict measures put in place in Misamis Oriental would not only protect residents of the province but would also benefit Cagayan de Oro.
Emano said the quarantine control points in Lugait and Magsaysay towns are strengthened to prevent spread of Covid-19 in the province and even Cagayan de Oro.
He also lauded the town and city mayors and village chiefs in the province for working so hard to protect its constituents.
"Ang among ginahimo is dili lang pagpanalipod sa MisOr kundili giprotektahan sad nato ang CDO and MisOr will always take care of CDO. Saludo kita sa mga mayor ug kapitan sa probinsya they did well and tataw ana nakapaingon ang kwarta nga ilang gigasto," Emano said.
"Dili na unta ko gusto ko motumpang. Inig-abot sa panahon pwede nato lingkuran kining ilang pagpanaway. Usa-usahon nato aron maayo nang masabtan sa katawhan," he added.
