LOCAL officials of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, and the military forces operating in the area have brought basic services in the conflict-affected communities early this week.
Members of the 8th Infantry Battalion and the local government unit also conducted a dialogue among the residents to address the problems that they are facing.
The activity was part of of the "Magbuligakoy" program of the local government together with the military which aims to extend the various programs to the communities to continuously resolve "issues that are being exploited by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) in their recruitment efforts."
8IB commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Illana said the government security forces and other stakeholders are working hand in hand to support and protect the people in the community who are the main targets for recruitment of the CPP-NPA.
"The local government plays a vital role in resolving the issues and problems of the community which is essential in preventing conflicts," Illana said.
The military said it is not the first time that basic services are being brought to the rebel-infested areas as it was already been made in other areas of the province.
