WITH the low infection rate among returning residents of Cagayan de Oro, the City has allowed newly arrived individuals to undergo quarantine in their homes rather than in isolation units starting February 1.
However, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said that while the new arrivals team will not be physically there, they will still continue monitoring the returning residents with a new system.
"Naay team from the Department of Health nga naka-base sa airport and pier. Part na na sila sa Bureau of Quarantine staff," Nery said.
"Tanan nga mga pasengers nga nagsulod, naa gihapon ang ilang declaration, kung gikan sa airport, naa gihapon ang mga names sa manifesto," she added.
In the new system, returning residents are required to coordinate with the city's call center located at the City Hall.
According to Nery, the list of names of those who are bound for Cagayan de Oro will be given to the Barangay Health Emergency Response teams (BHERTs).
Nery said they have already met with the barangay officials regarding the new protocol.
"Each barangay nga katong naa nay mga IT capabilities, diretso na from our call center sa city hall ilabay diretso didto sa ilang IT para right there and then, makita nila kung kinsa tong mga list of arriving residents sa ilahang mga barangay," Nery said.
She added that barangays with no IT capabilities have an assigned point person who will be answering the calls from the city's call center to receive the list of names of arriving residents.
All BHERTs were instructed to strictly enforce the health protocols and monitor the inbound travelers in their respective barangays.
