THE City Health Office (CHO) of Cagayan de Oro is advising all pregnant women with no scheduled prenatal visit to stay at home and keep hydrated.
This was after a 25-year-old female, who was four to five months pregnant and has no prenatal visit for her pregnancy, of Zone 3, Pinikitan, Barangay Camaman-an, was among the five fatalities recorded in the city over the weekend.
The health office said pregnant women are among the vulnerable group who are at higher risk for contracting the deadly Covid-19.
The CHO also advised pregnant women to have their prenatal visit scheduled to the nearest health centers.
"Kaning mga pregnant women atong hunahunaon pud nga naa pud ni silay need for a prenatal checkup, and prenatal checkups are being scheduled," CHO Officer-in-Charge Dr. Lorraine Nery said.
"Mao na nga among gina permanente istorya dinhi nga ang atoang mga health centers kanunay naga serbisyo og padayon nga naga serbisyo sa atoang community for our basic health services apil na ang prenatal checkup sa mga buros," she added.
Nery said pregnant women who will be visiting the health centers for their prenatal checkups should always wear their face mask and observe physical distancing.
And upon arriving home, they should take a bath and change their clothes before interacting with their family members.
