Suspected forger foiled in PNP entrapment ops

AUTHORITIES have arrested a 42-year-old man for making and selling falsified documents in an entrapment operation at Velez-Gomez streets, Cagayan de Oro City, Monday, July 30.

Police identified the suspect as Albert Sarmiento, resident of Macanhan, Carmen, this city.

Operatives formed a team to validate, transact and conduct an entrapment operation after receiving information on the suspect's illegal activity.

Seized from the suspect's possession were assorted fake government and school documents like diplomas, transcript of records, barangay and mayor's clearance, baptismal and other government issued certificate, SSS ID, among others.

Police also confiscated a type writer and a cellphone.

Investigation said the suspect revealed his cohorts identified as Mario Ampoon and Gina Salduha who both evaded arrest during follow-up operation.

The suspect is now detained and will face falsification of document charges.
