WITH four entries, the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) leads the qualifiers in semifinal round of the third season of Cagayan de Oro City Inter-Public Basketball tournament which started Saturday morning, March 9 at Barangay Nazareth gym in Cagayan de Oro City.
Guest teams from the private side, Corpus Christi School (CCS) and Xavier University School, will also add fervor in the semis action as they managed to breeze through the elimination matches to have at least one or two entries each.
"Yes, inter-public ang format but we accommodate private schools sa atong liga para mas competitive pabor sab in the development sa mga bata," said tournament overseer Raul Fuentes.
First to take the floor on Saturday morning were the elementary matches, pitting Xavier University Grade School (XUGS) against East CCS at 8:30 a.m. and CCS-Blue opposite West CCS at 9:30 a.m.
The secondary hoop fest highlighted by the much-awaited face-off of MOGCHS lady Cavaliers and the Indahag Lady Skyhawks as well as the equally-interesting match-up between the Corpus Christi ladies and Bulua NHS.
MOGCHS played Tablon National High School for the 17-under boys at 11:30 a.m.
At 1:30 p.m., Agusan National High School faced MOGCHS-A, while City High (CDONHS) battled with Indahag NHS in the 15-under boys.
Capping the day was the 17-under tussle between MOGCHS-A and City High (CDONHS) at 3:30 p.m.
