TWO adult turtles were rescued in the mountain barangay of Catang, Argao town, southern Cebu, around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, according to Barangay Balaas Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman Sheinrey Mamac Gonzaga.
Gonzaga told VoxPop Cebu that they were on a rescue vehicle headed to Barangay Poblacion when they saw the turtles in Barangay Catang crawling down the road, which led them to act to save the reptiles.
Gonzaga asked the owners to claim the reptiles.
He stated that if no one stepped forward to claim the turtles, he would be happy to care for them.
He said he took pity on the turtles as they were weeping when they found them. (DVG)
