BANANA chips and peanut products helped Daanbantayan emerge as one of the initial high-income towns and cities in this year's "Tabo sa Kapitolyo" trade fair at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

Behind the town's strong performance is 59-year-old Peregrina Arquio, the entrepreneur behind GPA Snacks whose family-run business grew since 2019 with support from local initiatives like Sugbo Negosyo.

As of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, data from Provincial Agriculture Office shows that Daanbantayan ranked fourth into the event's top revenue earners among local government units, generating P131,230 in sales during the first half of the week.

Joining top-performing municipalities such as Tudela, Santa Fe, Argao, and Madridejos, Arquio’s success highlights how local micro-entrepreneurs continue to drive community growth through quality craftsmanship.

Meanwhile, for the private sector, Wilma’s Inasal Manok Bisaya rank first followed by Jenelyn’s Lechon Manok Bisaya, Khian’s Lechon Baboy, Empiang’s Inasal Manok Bisaya and Pestales Agriculture Cooperatives. (CDF)
