NORTHERN Cebu is known for its white sands and beautiful beaches.
Some of the famous places you can go to in order to bask in such a combination are Bantayan Island, Camotes, San Remigio, Bogo, Malapascua—you name it. Northern Cebu will not fail you.
However, there's also a place in northern Cebu called Medellin that hides one of its wonders from tourists like us. For some, they may have found this jewel, but for others, it is yet to be discovered.
Pasil sandbar in Medellin, Cebu is one of the best destinations for tourists who are up for white sands and amazing beaches.
If you are planning to commute, you can ride a bus at the North Bus Terminal going to Kawit. One can also book a van. Drop off will be at the corner of Barangay Mahawak.
From there, ride a tricycle going to the Port of Medellin.
From the Port of Medellin, ride a pump boat going to the island, which is approximately 20 minutes away from the Port.
Best times
The best time to visit Pasil sandbar is early morning as the sunrise is beautiful so is the temperature of the beaches.
The rent of a pump boat that can carry a maximum of 15 persons is P 1,500
There is no entrance fee since it is a public beach.
Bring your food as there is no available food on the island. It would be best to bring your supply of fish and pork since there are available places to cook them in the area.
Bring a power bank; there is no electricity in the area.
There are no travel requirements required. However, minimum health protocols are strictly followed.
The Pasil sandbar is also a perfect place for an overnight camp. You must bring the following:
• Power bank
• Emergency lights
• Butane (if you are planning to cook your food)
• Tent
• Your pillows and blankets
