EIGHTEEN suspected drug personalities and illegal gamblers were caught in a series of drug busts on Sunday, June 3, in five villages in Danao City, Cebu.
Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief, said the arrests were made under the Oplan Limpyo Danao 2, an anti-narcotics program. The operatives seized 7.48 grams of white crystals believed to be "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
The contraband is worth P88,360, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.
The operatives led by Police Officer 3 Phil Restauro caught suspected pushers Jonathan Laude Tizon, Bernardo Banzon Capuno, Jovelyn Tano Barriga, Windel Diaz Roble, Percieval Juntilla Buligan, Richie Pena Bohol, Romeo Enriquez Sabas Jr., and Sofia Laurente Banzon.
Alex Buot Euas and Gilbert Ramoneda Morales were the alleged users arrested in the operations in the villages of Suba, Maslog, Looc, Guinacot and Poblacion.
Eight persons were also arrested for illegal gambling---Floriano Laurito Canono, Reyan Suplaag Awit, Ceasar Soy Bataluna, Pepito Cal Lavador, Cesar Juntilla Laude Jr., Judah Rica Dagatan, Narciso Agot Gonzago, and Dante Roble Castro.
Suspects will be facing complaints for illegal gambling and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
