(UPDATED) -- The family of slain anti-drug agent Baby "Earl" Rallos said they do not know where to put their trust in their search for justice.
"In terms pod sa investigation, wala mi kabalo asa namo ibutang ang among pagsalig labi na sa nahitabo sa Tejero kay di man sad guro kami lang ang nakahunahuna sa koneksiyon labi na sa mga miaging panghitabo," said a Rallos family member, who wished to remain anonymous.
The agent's relative is referring to the alleged assassination attempt on Tejero, Cebu City Barangay Councilor Jessielou Cadungog last Monday. The police denied there was an attempt to kill the village official and, instead, accused him of conniving with his bodyguard to kill PO3 Eugene Calumba.
Rallos's relatives and officemates at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas do not believe the three packs of shabu found in the glove compartment of his car were his.
Rallos often asked any of his family members to get items he left in the car.
"Wala gyod siyay gitagoan," a relative said, adding that the agent would not let anyone open the car if he was hiding something.
The relative further said that the inventory report they received from Scene of the Crime Operation listed no illegal drugs were found in Rallos's car.
The family does not say that the packs of shabu were planted, but insisted Rallos do not own the contraband.
Last July 27, Rallos was driving his Toyota Altis from PDEA-Central Visayas office in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City toward his home when riding-in-tandem assassins ambushed him on Villalon Drive.
Police Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas had formed a special investigation task group to solve the murder and it is headed by Cebu City Police Office Director Royina Garma.
The PDEA-Central Visayas joined in the SITG-Rallos to help police investigators.
