Lapu-Lapu City holds 1st Covid-19 vaccination simulation in Central Visayas

LAPU-LAPU City is the first to conduct a Covid-19 vaccination simulation in Central Visayas. Led by Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard "Ahong" Chan, the simulation was held in Barangay Pajo Gym on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

In his Facebook post, Chan said there will be six steps to undergo during the vaccination:

Step 2 - Registration area

Step 3 - Counseling

Step 4 - Screening

Step 5 - Vaccination area

Step 6 - Post-vaccination area

A standby ambulance is available in the area.

Lapu-Lapu City's Vaccination Program

• Phase 2: Drivers of public transportation and market vendors will be able to acquire the vaccine.

• Phase 3: Persons with Disabilities and indigents will be given the vaccine.

• Phase 4: Members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology will be given the vaccine.

The vaccine will be administered to individuals aged 18 to 59.

Mayor's request

He assured the Oponganon that the Sinovac vaccine is safe as it was already given an emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration.

Around 600,000 doses of donated Sinovac vaccine from the People's Republic of China arrived in the Philippines on Feb. 28, 2021

On March 2, 2021, 7,200 doses of CoronaVac from China arrived at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, which is intended for VSMMC health care workers. (RSR)
