THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas launched on Wednesday, August 1, a program that aims to separate good motorists from the bad ones, including criminals.
Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas, PRO-Central Visayas director, said "Clean Riders" is the brainchild of Police Director General Oscar Albayalde.
More than 500 riders joined in the launch held in PRO-Central Visayas's headquarters in Cebu City.
"Ang intention ani is to segregate law-abiding motorcycle riders," he said. "Hopefully, this will segregate the motorcycle use for killings or hold-ups."
Sinas urged motorcycle drivers to apply for a "clean rider" sticker to a nearest police station. The drivers only need to present identification card, driver's license, official receipt and certificate of registration.
The stickers, he said, are not for sale.
Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas Director Victor Caindec promised to record the members of Clean Riders in a database for easy verification.
Sinas said traffic violators with "Clean Riders" stickers will still be flagged down. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
