

TAGUM CITY — THE Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) revealed that two male minors have been arrested in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Sophia Coquilla in the early hours of July 9, at the victim’s residence in Purok 3A, Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The offenders were apprehended inside a boarding house, where authorities also recovered an Apple laptop, iPad, iPhone, two watches, and other items believed to have been stolen. A blood-stained butterfly knife, a kitchen knife, and other objects were also confiscated.
According to SOCO, the victim sustained approximately 38 stab wounds.
Authorities believe that a total of four individuals were involved in the crime, and efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining suspects.
The arrested minors have been turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), while the seized evidence is now under the custody of the General Investigation Section for proper handling.
