

THE Public Employment Service Office (Peso)-Davao City announced it will offer around 2,400 job vacancies during its upcoming job fair on April 8, 2025, at NCCC Victoria Plaza.
Lilibeth Pantinople, Peso-Davao City manager, shared during the ISpeak media forum on April 3, 2025, that 31 companies will participate, including 21 local and 10 international firms from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Japan, Germany, Bahrain, and the UAE.
“Ang atoang mga job seekers dili lang from Davao City kung dili open to all ni siya within Davao Region or other regions naa pay maabot diri from Cagayan and Butuan (Our job seekers aren’t just from Davao City. The fair is open to everyone in the Davao Region, even those from other regions like Cagayan and Butuan," Pantinople said. "Kani atoang ginaconduct na job fair dako kaayong tabang pa reducesana ang unemployment rate (This job fair is a big help in reducing the unemployment rate).”
Pantinople added that the office expects a high turnout, especially with many fresh graduates seeking employment.
In a previous job fair on March 21, in conjunction with Araw ng Dabaw, 250 job seekers attended, and 50 were hired on the spot.
Aside from the job fair, Peso-Davao also accommodates walk-in applicants at its office at the Davao City Recreation Center (formerly Almendras Gym), serving about 30 applicants daily.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Davao City’s employment rate increased to 97.5 percent in October 2024, up from 97.1 percent in 2023, while the unemployment rate dropped from 2.9 percent in 2023 to 2.5 percent in 2024. RGP
