THE Davao City Business Bureau announced that it will extend its hours to accommodate the expected influx of Dabawenyos renewing their business permits, opening on Saturdays throughout January.
Maribel Paguican, head of the Bureau, shared that the office will also be open on January 28 to help applicants meet the deadline. She underscored the importance of early renewals to avoid penalties.
“Mag open ta aron for them to really cope up sa atoang deadline kay kung malampas sa deadline naa nay penalty (We would extend our office hours to help them meet the deadline, because if they miss it, there will be a penalty),” Paguican said in a radio interview with Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on January 2, 2024.
She encouraged business owners to renew their permits early and to use the online renewal option at appts.davaocity.gov.ph for convenience. She also advised applicants to be cautious of scams and to ensure that the bookkeepers or agencies they consult are legitimate.
The business permit renewal process began on January 2, 2024, with many already in line. The deadline for renewal is January 31, 2024. Paguican assured business owners that the process remains efficient, with no additional requirements.
The Business Bureau has set up 10 processing locations across the city to accommodate business permit renewals. The Sanguniang Panlungsod (SP) Building will serve the Poblacion District, Almendras Gym will cater to Talomo and Agdao Districts, Gaisano Grand CityGate Mall will handle Buhangin and Calinan Gym will assist the Calinan District.
The District Treasury Offices will serve the Baguio, Marilog, Tugbok, Toril, Bunawan, and Paquibato Districts.
To handle the expected surge of renewals, Paguican announced extended office hours. On January 31, 2024, the SP Building and Almendras Gym will stay open until 10 p.m., while Gaisano Grand CityGate will remain open until 8 p.m.
The processing hours for Calinan, Bunawan, Toril, and Tugbok districts will be extended until 7 p.m., while the more remote districts will maintain regular office hours, closing at 5 p.m. RGP
