MINDANAO businessmen are calling on the government to fast track the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018.
This is among the 17 resolutions that was crafted during the 27th Mindanao Business Conference in Tagum City on September 13 to 15, 2018.
The Ease of Doing Business Act of 2018 was signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte in May this year.
"This law will introduce simplified requirements and streamlined procedures that will finally spare our people from the intolerable waiting time and long lines in frontline government agencies," Duterte said during the signing of the law.
RA 11032 also seeks to limit the number of signatories for applications for licenses, clearances, permits, certifications and authorizations to a maximum of three.
Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) president Ma. Alegria Limjoco said during the business conference that it in their greatest interest to promote the welfare of the business sector in Mindanao given with its vast business opportunities.
Limjoco said that inclusivity is vital in addressing the concerns of the business players in establishing their goals.
"PCCI is at the goal of creating an environment of creating sustainable programs as part of the prosperity for inclusive business," Limjoco said.
Tagum city mayor Allan L. Rellon during the event also underscored the importance of the ease of doing business transaction.
"We from the local government units are challenging the national government agencies to also join in us in what we call ease in doing business," Rellon said.
The said resolution on the ease of doing business is part of the 17 resolutions crafted from the 27th Mindanao Business Conference.
