JUST like a number of girls out there, I am the type who never goes out of the house without wearing a pair of earrings. It feels like my OOTD is incomplete without those lovely danglings or studs on my ears.

To make us feel gorgeous even more, I have found a new #BeautyGoals and #FashionGoals ally.

AMAVI, which is celebrating its first anniversary this month, is among my latest discoveries for the Dabawenya fashionistas.

One of its owners, Ally Tobias-Marfori, gave me the opportunity to know a couple of things about AMAVI.

"AMAVI is for anyone who's into self-expression and who loves to accessorize just as much as we do," Ally said.

According to her, the pieces that the company offers are forms of expressions. That is why, together with business partner Jane Ginete-Tesoro, they make sure that their designs are versatile and can fit just about any profile.

"We feature statement pieces in our collections, which are usually big and lengthy, but we also include small ones for those who prefer to go for a simpler look. Not to mention, our designs are proudly Pinoy-made and are always handmade with love," she narrated.

Talking about being handmade, I asked for the prices of their fashion pieces. I know that handmade products are usually a bit pricey. Contrary to that notion, AMAVI pieces are affordable. For only P300, you can already don a pair that definitely pictures superb craftsmanship and design.

When asked where they draw their inspiration from, Ally noted that they get their inspiration from the latest trends, but what they also do is choose a theme and start designing from there.

"For example, our upcoming line is for the 'Island Girls at heart,' so most of the materials that we use now include shells and mother of pearls, plus some metallic elements since that's also kind of a thing lately," she said.

When I requested her for a brief background of how AMAVI started, Ally was generous enough to share their story.

"We're the kind of girls who'd sport different kinds of accessories every possible chance we could get. One time, we were both frustrated as we were eyeing a lot of trendy pieces that were not locally available," she said. "That led us to thinking that instead of drooling over them or ordering them online at a ridiculous price, why not make some for ourselves?"

"It was not long before we came up with an even better idea of sharing our creations with the women of Davao City and everywhere else," she continued.

She further revealed that one thing that makes AMAVI stand out from the rest is the way they build their relationships with both their clients and talents.

"We don't just sell to make profit. Rather, we hit two birds with one stone by also expanding our network and gaining new friends along the way," she said.

With fashion constantly evolving, the lovely AMAVI girls pointed out that being fashionable is about managing to incorporate the newest trends with your own personal style and rock it still.

"Wear your style and wear it proud because there's nothing like being confident in expressing who you are," their advice goes.
