THE Commission on Elections-Davao Region (Comelec-Davao) reported that it processed around 17,000 voter registrations, applications, and record updates from August 1 to 3, 2025.
Atty. Gay Enumerables, Comelec-Davao assistant regional director, said that their office recorded 17,783 voter applications during the three-day period. Of that number, 3,426 came from Davao del Sur, 1,770 from Davao Occidental, 3,162 from Davao del Norte, 2,365 from Davao de Oro, 2,010 from Davao Oriental, and 5,050 from Davao City.
Of the 5,050 registrations in Davao City, 2,206 came from the first district, 1,725 from the second district, and 1,119 from the third district.
Enumerables encouraged individuals aged 15 and above to register in line with the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) this December. She emphasized the importance of registration for those who wish to participate in the elections; thus, they are ramping up the campaign.
“I would like to encourage everyone who has not registered in the past to please visit our offices or our scheduled satellite registrations so you can register and participate in the upcoming December 2025 Barangay and SK elections,” she said during the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, August 4, 2025, at SM City Davao.
Enumerables revealed that the schedules for registration for District One are: August 6 – at Maa Elementary School; August 7 – special satellite registration at Maa City Jail; August 8 – at Montemaria Gym; and August 9 and 10 – at NCCC Victoria Plaza.
While for the second district, their offices are at the NCCC Mall Buhangin until August 10 to accommodate more registrants.
For the third district, they would be at Magsaysay Park until August 5; for August 6 and 7, they would be at Vista Mall, August 8 – at GMall Toril, and on August 9 and 10 – back to Magsaysay Office.
She clarified that those who registered as SK voters and have since turned 18 no longer need to re-register, as the system automatically updates their status to regular voters.
Enumerables also explained that registration is simple, as long as the registrants bring a valid ID such as a school ID or library ID (with proper signatories) and fill out the application forms. For government-issued IDs, Comelec accepts PRC IDs, driver’s licenses, passports, UMIDs, GSIS and SSS IDs, among others.
She noted, however, that barangay certifications are no longer accepted.
However, she clarified that during the registration period, Comelec is only accepting first-time voter registrations, new applications, and record updates.
Applications for transfers of voting precincts will not be processed at this time, as priority is being given to first-time voters and record updates. RGP
