THE Chamber of Real Estate Builders Association (Creba) Davao City Chapter is optimistic about the future of the real estate sector, driven by ongoing government infrastructure projects.
During a press conference on Monday, January 20, 2025, Creba-Davao Chapter President Jarvie Harlem Gantalao highlighted that large-scale infrastructure developments, such as new roads, bridges, and public transport systems, will improve accessibility, connectivity, and economic activity. These projects are expected to create a ripple effect, opening new investment opportunities and further expanding the city’s real estate market.
Gantalao said that the government’s focus on infrastructure is essential for improving citizens' quality of life and unlocking growth in the real estate market. Despite political challenges, particularly the city's public traffic congestion (Davao ranked as the most congested city for 2024), the real estate market remains resilient, driven by sustainable practices, policy initiatives, and Davao's strategic location.
Davao City is currently undergoing several infrastructure projects. The Davao City Bypass Road and Davao International Airport expansion are expected to increase demand for properties near these developments. Additionally, projects like the Samal Island-Davao City Connector will enhance connectivity, likely boosting property values on Samal Island and surrounding areas.
With strong support for affordable and sustainable housing, Gantalao believes the real estate market will experience significant growth as these infrastructure projects progress. With the Davao government’s commitment to economic development, the future of the real estate and broker sectors looks promising.
As the year unfolds, the long-term impact of these infrastructure advancements will shape both the real estate industry and the local economy. DEF
