THE Department of Agriculture-Davao Region (DA-Davao) warned the public about individuals allegedly claiming to represent the agency and attempting to extort establishments and private companies.
DA-Davao said that some individuals have identified themselves as representatives of DA-Davao Regional Executive Director Macario D. Gonzaga in an attempt to extort establishments and private companies.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant. Do not disclose information or entertain suspicious requests from individuals claiming to represent RED Gonzaga or DA-Davao Region,” DA-Davao wrote on August 5, 2026.
The department urged the public to verify any suspicious communication through the official channels of DA-Davao and report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities.
DA-Davao also announced that Gonzaga does not know and does not have any official association with an individual who identifies as “Eng. Mark Flores.” It added that Gonzaga has not authorized or instructed anyone to gather information or contact establishments and companies.
A similar incident also occurred in DA-Soccsksargen, wherein the regional office also warned the public about individuals allegedly representing the office.
DA-Soccsksargen said that the office did not authorize any third party or individual to represent it in any transactions and that it maintains a strict policy against fraudulent activities and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
“If you encounter any person or entity misusing the name of Regional Executive Director John B. Pascual for unauthorized purposes, we urge you to report the incident immediately, either in person at the regional office,” DA-Soccsksargen said on April 10, 2026.
The agency advised the public to exercise caution and verify the credentials of individuals claiming to represent the office. It further said that the cooperation of the public is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the department's operations. RGP
