PREPARATIONS are in full swing as the Davao del Norte provincial government finalizes billeting quarters for participating delegations in the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2025, which opens Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2025, at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City.

In a copy furnished to VoxPop Davao, perennial Davraa champions the Davao City Durians will be billeted at Tagum National Trade School. There, 104 rooms have been allocated for athletes, coaches, chaperones, secretariat and kitchen staff, and technical and delegation officials.

The Durians previously stayed at the same venue during the Davraa Meet 2023.

Other delegations will be housed as follows: Davao del Norte Pioneers–Visayan Village Central Elementary School, Tagum City Premier–La Filipina National High School, Panabo City Banana Magnates– Laureta Elementary School and Laureta National High School, Davao de Oro Golden Titans–Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School, Davao del Sur Cobras–Mangga Elementary School, Davao Occidental Slashers– Magugpo Pilot Imelda Elementary School, Mati City Eagles–La Filipina Elementary School, Digos City Trekkers–Don Ricardo Briz Central Elementary School, Davao Oriental Sunrisers–Conocotan National High School, Igacos Samal Waves–F. Advance parties from the 11 competing delegations are expected to arrive in their respective quarters before the opening ceremonies.

"The arrival of delegations will start on Friday, March 7," Giovanni Gulanes, the provincial sports coordinator of Davao del Norte, told VoxPop Davao via Messenger Wednesday, March 5.

Aside from the intense athletic competition, delegations will compete for the Best Decorated Billeting Quarter Award. Teams often bring in artists and expert decorators to transform their quarters into stunning showcases of their rich culture, heritage, and local tourism attractions.
