THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Davao Region (RTWPB-Davao) has announced plans to hold a public hearing about wage adjustments for private sector workers and domestic workers on February 4, 2025, at the Grand Regal Hotel in Lanang.
The hearing is part of the board's mandate to periodically review regional minimum wages, aligning with Republic Act No. 6727, or the “Wage Rationalization Act,” and the Omnibus Rules on Minimum Wage Determination.
The session will focus on the proposed minimum wage adjustments for workers in both the private sector and domestic service.
“Interested parties are enjoined to attend the public hearing in person or virtually to present their views, comments, and positions on the correctness of the proposed adjustment of the current regional minimum wage,” the Department of Labor and Employment-Davao Region (Dole-Davao) stated on January 16, 2025.
Dole-Davao also said that position papers may be submitted in person at the Upper Ground Floor, Parking Building, Bormaheco Compound, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City, or emailed to rtwpbxi@yahoo.com by January 30, 2025.
In a previous move, the office granted a wage increase for domestic workers in the region under Wage Order No. RBXI-DW-03. Starting March 6, 2024, the new monthly minimum wage for domestic workers will be P6,000 in chartered cities and first-class municipalities, and P5,000 in other municipalities.
RTWPB-Davao approved a P38 daily wage increase for minimum wage workers in the region, to be implemented in two tranches. The first tranche of P19 will take effect on March 6, 2024, under Wage Order No. RBXI-22, with the second tranche of P19 taking effect on September 1, 2024.
As a result, the new minimum wage for non-agriculture workers will be P481 per day, while agriculture workers will earn P476 per day. RGP
