

THE Department of Education – Davao Region (DepEd-Davao) has announced that Davao del Norte will host the Davao Regional Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2025 from March 9 to 15 at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex.
DepEd-Davao spokesperson Jenielito "Dodong" Atillo confirmed the event dates and noted that additional venues across the province are being planned, although it’s still unclear if Davao City will host any. Details will be announced soon.
Atillo also bared that the 2025 Palarong Pambansa will take place in Laoag City from May 24 to 31
He said that local meets are currently being held across the region in preparation for the upcoming major sporting event.
Davao City is conducting its Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) meet, while Davao Oriental is also holding its local competition.
“They will be selecting the best among the best from their delegation and then we will have the DAVRAA para maporma na nato atoang grupo na atoang dad-on para sa atoang Palarong Pambansa (They will select the top athletes from their delegations, and then we’ll hold the DAVRAA to form the team that will compete at the Palarong Pambansa),” he said during the Davao Peace and Safety Security Corps event on February 5, 2025, at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
The Dcaa Meet 2025 opened on February 3 at Davao City National High School (DCNHS), with about 6,000 athletes from eight participating units competing for spots in the Davraa.
The Davao City Durians defended its overall championship during the Davraa Meet 2024 they hosted and also led the Davao Region's fourth-place finish at the Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu. The region secured 32 golds, 25 silvers, and 35 bronzes. RGP
