THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has debunked rumors circulating on social media that a Dabawenya, Abegail Ador Go, who went missing for five days, was kidnapped. Go, a 30-year-old accountant was reported missing by her family on December 5, 2024, but safely returned home on December 10. The DCPO confirmed she was in good condition.
DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon clarified that Go’s family had maintained communication with her, urging her to return home. However, the reason for her disappearance has not been disclosed.
“Through the concerted efforts of this station's personnel, under the supervision of the undersigned, a follow-up investigation was conducted, focusing on locations where the missing person might have gone. Assistance was also rendered by her immediate family, who maintained frequent contact with her and encouraged her to return home. Information provided by concerned citizens of Davao City significantly contributed to the successful recovery of the missing person,” the report stated.
Go had last been seen at a grocery store in Cabantian, buying pet food.
According to the police, she had met her best friend, April Reycan Delos Reyes, at around 2 p.m. on December 5 at SM Lanang. Afterward, she was dropped off near a 7-Eleven in Cabantian to buy dog food but did not return home.
After 24 hours, Go's husband, Paul Simon Ortiz Go, filed a missing person report, prompting an immediate police response. DEF
